Paul Garvey (1944–2025)

Longtime Berkshires Jazz board member Paul Garvey has passed away.

During his almost 15-year tenure on the Board, Paul was an active member of our Program Committee, and was a constant presence at our concerts, either in the audience, or passing out programs, or helping in any way possible. A one-time owner of a record store (remember those?), he had a huge collection of jazz and classical recordings, and his recollections of the artists were deep and reliable. He told uncountable great stories about the local jazz scene. To say that he will be missed is stating the obvious. We were richer for his presence, and poorer with his passing.
