Massachusetts Taxpayers

Every charitable donation you make can now be deducted from your state income tax return, regardless of whether you itemize your federal deductions. The new regulation applies to all donations from January 1, 2023 and on.

As confirmed by the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network, of which Berkshires Jazz is a member, the deduction is universal — it applies to all Massachusetts taxpayers, no matter the income level, and including those who don’t itemize their federal deductions or whose charitable donations do not meet the itemization threshold.
