Samirah Evans and Her Handsome Devils Trio will include will feature pianist Miro Sprague and bassist Marty Jaffe.

During Evans’ career as a performer and recording artist, she has become known for her dynamic and soulful approach to music, especially in the jazz and blues genres. Her musical style is heavily influenced by the New Orleans sound where she was one of the city’s most popular and in-demand singers for nearly 20 years. Samirah Evans and Her Handsome Devils have had two consecutive years of sold out show during Pittsfield Jazz Festival in 2016 and 2017.

Sprague and Jaffe are both prodigies ties in the Berkshires, with both having families in the region. Sprague’s talent has garnered him the opportunity to study and receive his masters at the Theolonius Monk Institute studying under the tutelage of Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter, Jaffe’ who’s farther Andy is an accomplished pianist and ran the jazz department at Williams,  completed his undergraduate degree at Columbia University and his Master of Music degree at the Juilliard School. He studied double bass with  the likes of Ron Carter and Ray Drummond.

Samirah and Her Handsome Devils are amazing. The music is exciting and the energy is burning hot!”
