Susan Dillard and David Bartley perform a mix of Jazz, Soul, Blues, pop, Broadway favorites, and deep cuts with their own twist on style and presentation.

Susan Dillard is a vocalist and teacher based in Western Mass. With a background in musical theater and pop/rock, she has made a name for herself as a versatile performer that can present 40s jazz, 70s folk rock, and country blues with equal authenticity. After meeting Dave Bartley in 2018, Susan’s love of blues and jazz has only grown. Now the duo has the most fun putting their modern twist on classic favorites.

David Bartley is a jazz pianist who performs as a soloist and in ensembles throughout western Massachusetts. With a formal education in classical piano performance, David has become a sought after professional jazz and blues artist in western Massachusetts over the last twenty years. Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson, Mose Alison, and Gene Harris are among the inspirations for David’s style. His sound ranges from straight ahead swinging jazz with a heavy dose of blues to original takes on popular hits.

Susan Dillard and David Bartley began performing together in 2018, drawn by a mutual love of Jazz and a desire to keep the musical conversation going. Drawing on music from jazz greats Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Henry Mancini, Hoagy Carmichael, Fats Waller, as well as popular icons Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone, Eva Cassidy, k. d. Lang, Carole King, John Lennon and Paul McCartney, the duo plays improvisational Jazz, Blues, Soul, Musical Theater, and a touch of pop all around Massachusetts.
