The Django Festival Allstars, June 16 in Lenox, Mass.

Django Reinhardt was king. He teamed with violinist Stephane Grappelli, making musical history with their creation of “gypsy jazz”, today more commonly known as “French Swing” or Jazz Manouche. And today, 70 years after his passing, he is still a household name.

Every mainstream jazz artist, and many who are known for other forms of music, has at least one number by Django in their repertoire. Seldom can you hear an entire concert of music he inspired, authentically performed by full-time proponents of Django’s music. Now’s your chance. The Django Festival Allstars bring this music to today… combining known standards and original music…intoxicating! A special Fathers Day matinee concert at Shakespeare & Co., Lenox.

The Django Festival Allstars are a brilliantly cohesive group of star musicians who have taken America by storm, performing at top concert halls and festivals to standing ovations. They swing like crazy and will break your heart with a ballad. The band performed to a sold-out house last November in Pittsfield, and are back by popular demand, headed by world-renowned accordionist Ludovic Beier.
