Django Reinhardt was king. He teamed with violinist Stephane Grappelli, making musical history with their creation of “gypsy jazz”, today more commonly known as “French Swing” or Jazz Manouche. And today, 70 years after his passing, he is still a household name.
Every mainstream jazz artist, and many who are known for other forms of music, has at least one number by Django in their repertoire.
