It’s one of our most intriguing and creative programs yet! New York-based sax virtuoso Scott Robinson will be performing 10 numbers that were composed or made popular by 10 different jazz saxophonists. And…he will be doing this on 10 different saxophones!

Not many jazz artists could carry this off, but Scott has the chops —and the hardware— to make it happen. He has created a one-time program that will be performed with an all-star Berkshires Jazz trio of Benny “Fingers” Kohn on piano, John Suters on bass, and Conor Meehan on drums.

A mainstay in the Maria Schneider Orchestra, he appears on 275 recordings under his own name or with other leaders. Throughout his career, Scott Robinson has worked to keep unusual and obscure instruments in the public view. We’re delighted to participate in that initiative.

It’s all part of the 10x10 Upstreet Arts Festival, a 10-day art series that is held in Pittsfield’s Upstreet Cultural District.

With his roots (and family) in the Berkshires, Scott will be playing to a home-town crowd. Don’t miss out on this one-time opportunity!

The City of Pittsfield’s annual 10×10 Upstreet Arts Festival features new art, dance, music, theatre, and more. Each performance or exhibition must be themed on 10. For example, ten 10-minute plays; an art show where the dimensions of the paintings are 10”x10”; even 10 minutes of fireworks. Sponsored by the City of Pittsfield and Downtown Pittsfield Inc., the festival takes place in various venues throughout the Upstreet Cultural District. This year, it runs from Feb. 13–23, 2025.
