Choral jazz is back! The Cantilena Chamber Choir is bringing back an all-inclusive jazz service to the Berkshires at Trinity Episcopal Church on Sunday, March 5, at 3p.m. for a concert that will include A Little Jazz Mass by Bob Chilcott, All My Hope by Dave Brubeck, and a world premiere of Isaiah 44: 21-23 by Williams college composer Stephen Dankner. Joining the choir will be well-known Berkshire Jazz musicians John Sauer, piano; Jon Suiter, bass; and Bill Chapman, drums. Audiences of all faiths are welcome.

The Cantilena Chamber Choir, now in its 19th season, comprises 24 dedicated singers of the highest caliber who possess vocal training, excellent sight-reading skills and considerable choral experience. Its accolades include a multi-year Cultural Portfolio grant award from the Massachusetts Cultural Council for its annual Martin Luther King program and two Choral Arts New England Alfred Nash Patterson awards for innovative programming.

The Choir is under the direction of Andrea Goodman whose appearances have included the Aspen Music Festival in Colorado, the Fribourg Festival de Musique Sacree’ in Fribourg, Switzerland, and the Singing World Festival and Festival of White Nights in St. Petersburg, Russia. Dr. Goodman worked with Dave Brubeck while at Skidmore College and presented his memorial concert at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center.

Tickets are free, with a good will offering. Trinity Church is at 88 Walker Street in Lenox. Tickets and more information: www.cantilenachoir.org. Phone: 518-791-0185 or email satbchoir@yahoo.com.
