The best-kept entertainment secret this time of year is often the Saturday after Thanksgiving, when family is still around (or not), the leftovers have been picked-over, and people are looking for great music.

Our collaborators at The Stationery Factory have jumped in to fill the void with a special sneak-preview of Natalia Bernal’s upcoming release, En Diablada.

Consisting of original compositions, co-written with guitarist Jason Ennis, and arrangements of Chilean and Andean standards, the recording and live performances take the listener on a multi-faceted and intriguing journey.

Joining her in the sextet configuration of this project is guitarist/co-composer/musical director Jason Ennis, saxophonist Michael Zsoldos, Grammy nominated pianist Michael Eckroth, NYC-based Brazilian bassist Itaiguara Brandão, and multi-grammy-winning drummer Mark Walker.

Though slated for national and worldwide release in May 2025, physical copies of the upcoming release will be available for local fans and music lovers. Natalia’s exciting, world-class sextet will perform the material from the album, plus new compositions inspired by the rich cultural legacy and striking natural beauty of her native Chile. En Diablada fuses Andean and other South American folkloric traditions with elements of jazz, blues, and rock. The recording is a vivid window into Natalia’s mind and her dreams of the Atacama Desert, the people who inhabited the lands thousands of years ago, and how their heritage can teach us to navigate the new paradigms of society.

Presented by the Stationery Factory in collaboration with Berkshires Jazz.
